Engineering firm Dyson is to create 300 new jobs in the UK as its turnover hits £1bn for the first time.
The firm, best known for its bagless vacuum cleaners, said sales rose by a quarter in 2011, with some markets growing by 30 percent.
The company´s new chief executive, Max Conze, the former boss of Dyson´s American division, said 200 of the new jobs would be engineering positions. At least 150 will go to graduates.
"My job is to take the new technology developed by our expanding army of engineers and grow Dyson - more machines and markets. And of course, more people," he said.
The Malmesbury-based group, founded by Sir James Dyson, employs 3,600 staff worldwide – 1,450 of whom work at its Tetbury Hill headquarters in the town.
