Kids“ store launches VIP club

Two fashionable Malmesbury mums who joined forces to launch children’s wear shop Starfish are celebrating six months in business by launching the Starfish VIP ‘Star Club’.

Emma Greatorex and Joanne Greenhill (pictured) took over one of the empty high street spaces in March for their collection of bright, stylish clothing and footwear for ages 0-9.

Emma and Joanne realised that there was a real gap locally for well priced, good quality clothing for children. “We wanted to find clothes that were bright and fun but still functional. The problem with the popular national brands is that you see them everywhere. We wanted to offer something a bit more unique that was affordable”.

Despite launching in a recession, their hunch was right. “The day we opened the shop a load of scaffolding went up outside and you could barely see the shop – so we were worried. But we have actually gone from strength to strength, with customers coming from all over the Cotswolds to buy from us,” says Emma. “I think they appreciate that our clothes make children look like children but still have loads of individuality”.

Now Joanne and Emma have decided to reward regular customers by launching the Star Club with a special preview evening on October 21. Members will be able to join Emma and Joanne between 6-8pm, for drinks and nibbles in the shop as well as browse the new Autumn range, get a first look at the new winter stock and get exclusive discounts.

“This is a way to reward the people who have supported us through the first six months as well as introduce our new season’s collection”. Not that it is just existing customers who are invited. “We’d love to welcome anyone new to our ranges”.

If you would like to join the Starfish ‘Star Club’ then just drop by the shop in Malmesbury and pick up an invite or call on 01666 822366
