News about the project to return the 51-mile Wilts and Berks Canal, and update on the plans for Melksham, will be delivered by the chairman of the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust at the Melksham Chamber of Commerce AGM on Tuesday, May 18 from 6.30pm.
John Laverick, a chartered engineer, has worked with both the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust, where he delivered on time and to budget the acclaimed Heritage Lottery-funded restoration of the waterway, and the Cotswold Canal.
The aim of the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust is to open a waterway and wildlife corridor from Melksham in the West, through Swindon, to Cricklade in the north of Wiltshire.
