Video expert offers networkers 30 seconds of fame

In 1968, the artist Andy Warhol predicted that in the future everyone would be famous for 15 minutes. And at this morning´s Swindon Chamber of Commerce business breakfast, digital media expert Gurps Nijjar went some way to explaining how.

Gurps, from Yantra IT and and its sister company Swindon TV, unveiled the video business card, a platform that allows businesspeople to record a 30-second elevator pitch and embed it into their email signatures, PDF brochures, websites and social media profiles.

By 2013, predicated Gurps, 80 percent of UK web content will be video. He told his audience that web video content was proven to increase sales conversions by 46 percent, 53 percent more likely to be on the first page of search engines – thanks in part to Google´s purchase of YouTube last year – and increased the time visitors spent on web sites by 100 percent.

It is also, said Gurps, a way to easily demonstrate complex products and services.
