Business is perfect fit for rugby star

A Bassett business has won the backing of a celebrity rugby player who struggles to buy a tailored suit without spending thousands of pounds.

Bath rugby union player Dave Attwood routinely finds it hard to buy a business suit which fits well because of his body shape. At 6ft 7 and weighing over 18 stone, finding smart, business clothes can be a challenge.

Dave said: “I am genuinely impressed by the product and the quality of the suit is quite special. Finding something that is broad enough around the shoulders and long enough at the waist is tricky for me.

“Suit trousers particularly will be awful around the thigh. If they fit around the waist there is no way they would fit around the thigh and vice versa.”

But he’s now thrilled to sport a new, fitted suit thanks to Tailored For You, based in Royal Wootton Bassett.

ScannerThe company, set up by entrepreneur Lynette Morrison, uses a high-tech body scanner to precisely measure a person’s body shape. From that 3-D image, a suit, shirt or waistcoat can be made to fit every shape and size.

The scanner is one of only a dozen in the country and Lynette regularly tours shopping centres and business events around the UK. She currently specializes in mens’ suit and shirts but hopes to soon launch a business range of clothes for women.

“This service is aimed at men with any body shape. It can help anyone of any size, whether it’s having a large neck, or long arms. The scan allows us to make a suit which is unique to every man,” Lynette said.

A tailored suit costs £450 while pure cotton shirts are £85. Having a scan takes ten seconds, a customer can see their body shape and can then order from a range of fabrics and colours.

Dave Attwood said: “For me, this has been pain free. That is one of the best selling points, because I hate shopping.

“I would more than happily wear this suit to a wedding or to a business meeting.”
