Paul Dunn, originator and co-founder of web video production company BizView.tv, has been re-elected as president of Wootton Bassett Chamber of Commerce at the group´s AGM. Paul now begins his second year of heading up the local business group.
Over thirty people from a variety of different local businesses enjoyed an evening of informal networking and socialising at the Chamber´s Cheese & Wine evening at Delicias wine bar, during which the AGM took place on July 6.
In addition to agreeing the position of president, Suzanne Gore from Only Mortgages was confirmed as the new vice-president, and Hazel Newson from Dandelion gift shop agreed to continue her current role as treasurer.
Paul gave attendees an overview of the past year´s activities of the Chamber, which included working with the Young Chamber at Wootton Bassett School, hosting the first in a series of retailers´ meetings, working with the town council on the Christmas Lights & Shopping Evening, and organising a series of successful events.
Current projects and future plans were also discussed, such as a new scheme to promote local trading, a town webcam, and plans to prepare for the closure of RAF Lyneham.
Paul said: "We have a good team of local business people with a varied range of skills and experience on our Chamber committee, putting us in an excellent position to continue promoting and encouraging the interests of our members.
“We hope that the following year will continue to bring fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm for projects and plans to benefit the local business community as a whole."
